In art, you’re stuck with your own personality. Who you are is also your fate.
This time last year I came across, and shared with you, the above thoughts attributed to the artist Joe Tilson, known particularly for his contribution to the pop art movement. On my journey of exploration in the last twelve months I have continued to respond to what I saw and what I imagined, unfettered by external ‘rules’. I particularly enjoyed having the opportunity to share some images in an exhibition at the Mall Gallery in September, and was delighted to receive some very positive feedback from many visitors.
I continue to work largely in monochrome, sharing images which capture moments that grabbed my imagination. Viewers’ responses may differ, but it may be that something of what I ’saw’ is seen by others. Crucially, I hope viewers find something to enjoy.
I am currently putting together a collection of images to be on show as a part of an exhibition in March of next year at the Espacio Gallery in Shoreditch. Further details will be shared nearer the time.
