Hello
The initial purpose of this email is to let you know that the website has been updated. There are some new images, and some of the older galleries have been taken down.
As the poet Leonard Cohen wrote and sang:
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in
Sadly, we find ourselves surrounded by much that might cause despair. Confronting and understanding the overwhelming is a huge challenge. My photographic images are in part an ‘escape route’ via creative art, an effort to stand back from and to try to make some sense of the world. Though intensely personal, you may find something of interest in them. They might perhaps resonate with some of your feelings and thoughts.
I hope that your journey takes you along an ‘avenue of light’.
You will notice that there is a new ’newsletter’ option that you might like to sign up for. I thought that from time to time you might find it interesting to read a little bit about the creative process behind some of the pictures. Below is an example of the sort of information I will share. Conscious of the flood of unwanted emails we have to put up with, I will not send this out without your consent. You can give this by adding your email in the space provided on the site. It will be forwarded directly to me and will not be made public. I am currently working on a first issue which I will hope to send out before the end of the month.
“oblivious”
Some (including me) characterise much Street photography as ‘random people in random places doing nothing in particular’. My eye saw more than that in the image below. It was captured after I noticed the figure wheeling his bicycle along the Southbank in London and I waited until he walked into the frame I had in mind.

I am drawn to scenes which say something about the position of the individual ‘player’ on the ‘urban stage’. His body language and juxtaposition with the City architecture across the river suggested a real moment in time to capture. The title encapsulates the narrative and mood. He seemed oblivious to his surroundings as I felt the City might be to his presence.
Best wishes
