Just when you thought you only had Easter to look forward to a new gallery comes along! You will find a virtual exhibition in New Additions in the form of a PowerPoint.
Like all of us, the pictures of most of what I have ‘seen’ in the past hang only in the gallery of memories. Increasingly, I have become driven to capture and share some of the thought-provoking moments that stir the imagination as I wander through life.
Of course, the images are to some extent a simple record of a scene, but they are often more than that. They are an observation of and a reflection on the moment, harnessing an intuitive awareness of the inter-relationships of the forms within the scene.
I am drawn particularly to the setting, characters and action on the Urban Stage (my own category). While not a recognised genre, it encapsulates much of what drives my compositional choices. Composition tends to work best when there is a balance – the forms within the frame are in harmony. Whether these images qualify is for you to decide.
Best wishes to you and many thanks for your support.
