Hello again

I do hope all goes well with you. Once again it is a pleasure for me to be able to share with you some of my images and some related thoughts.

The new gallery ‘Personal Style’ is extra-special for me. At last, I am beginning to feel able to identify and to be comfortable with my ‘style’.

When asked about my work, I have always replied that “I shoot what I see”. Increasingly I have come to understand that “what I see”  must be driven by a latent imaginative/creative inner eye. I have always been drawn to the poetry of the written word and the impact of a film’s cinematography. Perhaps there are elements of both in what I now ‘see’ through my lens.  That said, it is not always easy to describe precisely what ‘triggered’ each catch.

You may find the following image and notes ‘helpful’ 🤔 I have simply tried to identify some of the ideas that were whirling around in my imagination when I pressed the shutter 😳

– players on the ‘urban stage’ – a compelling ongoing interest
– dominant architecture dwarfing people
– geometric
– new horizon narrative
– impact of minimalism
– limited visual distractions
– personal identity
– aspirations/challenge
– mountain to climb

I respond to what I see in my own way because there is no other option; social networking pressure to conform to rules, or to replicate the work of others to gain popularity, has never held an appeal.

As always, I hope you find something to enjoy/think about. If so, then, ‘job done’.

Best wishes and thanks to you all.

Stay safe

Brian
